Mission
We have received a request from CAMP, our area community food bank for specific donations during September and October. For the month of September we will be collecting cereals and granola bars. If you would like to donate, please arrange a drop off at the church or request a porch pickup.

Scripture – Colossians 3:12
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Reflection – Put Your Coat On
Recently my Bible app served up this scripture for me for my daily reflection. I must admit that not every morning the scripture stays with me throughout the day, but this one did. Perhaps it was the simplicity of the notion of dressing myself in kindness or the imagery of being clothed with patience.
This scripture helps us set purposeful intention. We talk about being part of the Family of God, sharing God’s love with those around us, and this scripture helps us do it with intention. The notion of putting on a coat, literally getting dressed in the goodness of God, helps me visualize God’s intention for us. What if each morning—after we have combed our hair, brushed our teeth and put on our clothes—we clothed ourselves in mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience?
I love the idea of starting each day with a declaration. What if we all declared that each day we were going to put on one more layer?
Prayer:
Lord thank you for giving us your word to help us fulfill our purpose on earth. Help us to love one another and to show mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience in each interaction throughout our day. Lord, clothe us in your goodness that we may love others the way you love us. Amen.
